Zoned Sports Academy hosted its 3rd annual Signing Day for all the graduating seniors heading on to play collegiate baseball and softball next fall. The goal for Zoned's Signing Day is to give every student-athlete the opportunity to walk down the aisle and "sign." Not everyone has an opportunity to sign a National Letter of Intent (NLI), and this is a great chance for all the student-athletes to get together with their friends and family to celebrate their accomplishments! Accompanied by their family members, the staff at Zoned called up each student-athlete individually. After taking a photo, each recipient signed a certificate of excellence and received recognition for all their hard work throughout the years!
Zoned is extremely excited to announce that there were 25 student-athletes moving on to play baseball and softball at the collegiate level, all of which attended Signing Day. Montgomery, Bridgewater, Governor Livingston, Seton Hall Prep, Delbarton and Westfield were just some of the high schools represented. Of the 25 signees, some colleges that were represented included The University of Delaware, Fordham University, University of Connecticut, Manhattan College, Montclair State University, George Washington University and Adelphi University. "It is our ultimate goal to see our kids play collegiately, and we take pride in seeing so many of our student-athletes enter the next chapter in their academic and athletic careers. Some of these kids have trained with us for over 10 years and we are so proud to see them move on" said owner, Duke Baxter.
For the 3rd straight year, Signing Day at Zoned Sports Academy was a success! Zoned was thrilled to have special guests such as Bridgewater's Mayor Daniel Hayes and Dreams for Kids founder, Lonnie Allgood! Each year, hundreds of new faces walk through the doors at Zoned with the hopes and aspirations of playing in college and making it to the big leagues. Each day, the staff members at Zoned embark on a new journey with young athletes in hopes to develop them both on and off the field. Their job is to help train them in baseball and softball, as well as helping them to find the right academic fit moving forward. We look forward to all our future Signing Days and wish our class of 2017 the best of luck on their college careers!
