10U won their 3rd championship of the summer over the weekend and the second championship in as many weekends going 4-0 and outscoring their opponents 54-13 while hitting a smoking hot .523 as a team. The 10's look to continue the winning ways with another tournament this weekend in ECTB.
11U went 2-2 and finished third at Bridgewater Explosion. After a rocky first game, the 11's picked up their play and finished the tournament strong, earning a playoff berth that led to a 3rd place finish. Jake Zaikov and Stephen Chou also joined the Bomb Squad over the weekend with each player cracking a home run.
12U won the Bridgewater Explosion Tournament going 4-0 on the weekend outscoring their opponents by a score of 58-9 and cracked 17 home runs in 4 games highlighted by Vjay Arora's first dinger of the summer.
13U Black went 2-2 in the Bridgewater Explosion, going 2-1 in pool play to earn their first playoff appearance of the summer. The Black squad fell short to the eventual champion Northampton in the semi-finals, but excelled offensively all weekend scoring 29 runs and collecting 29 hits.
13U Red ended their 4th of July weekend finishing 2nd overall in the Bridgewater Explosion Tournament going 2-1 in pool play to help them reach the playoffs. The Red team faced the OTSB Express in the semi-finals playing an extra inning contest with the Redhawks coming away with 2 runs in the top of the 9th to secure the win. In the finals, the Redhawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead right away but, unfortunately, the defense couldn't hold up and eventually fell in the final 8-4 to secure a 2nd place finish.
14U Red battled all weekend in the Perfect Game Super 25 World Series in Ft. Meyers Florida coming away with a victory in their last contest. The 14U boys did a phenomenal job battling all weekend and representing the Zoned Redhawks on the national stage
14U Black traveled to the Ripken Tournament in Maryland returning with a 2-2 record and berth in the playoff round. The Black squad needed a win in game 3 to reach the playoffs and did so with a mercy of the Hudson Explorers 13-2. Unfortunately the road ended after game 1 of the playoffs with a tough loss. Key performers on the weekend were Sam Noles who went 5-12, Aaron Borchert who went 4-7, John Cavanaugh who went 4-8 and Nick DeSito who threw a complete game 5 hitter in which he struck out 7.
15U Red had a great weekend going 5-1 in the Triple Crown 4th of July Classic losing in the championship game 16-13 to the Taconic Rangers. The Red squad exploded offensively scoring a total of 58 runs on the weekend and defensively holding opponents to 2 total runs through the first 4 games. The Red squad earned the 2nd overall seed in the playoffs and came back from 7-0 down in the semi-finals to advance to the championship but eventually fell short to the number 1 seed. Key performers on the weekend were Nolan Leger who collected 12 hits and 7 RBI, Brandon Radice with 7 hits and 8 RBI, and Alex Degen who extended his hitting streak to 8 games with 9 hits and 7 RBI.
16U traveled to Worcester, Massachusetts to compete in the Northeast Classic Baseball Tournament and unfortunately didn’t make the playoff round, but competed hard all weekend. The 16's were led by their pitching staff made up of Jeff Praml, Vin Doren, Sean Savage and Sohil Patel who held their opponents to a combined 9 runs in 4 games. At the dish, catcher Luke Jacobi led the way in both the hits and RBI categories while defensively throwing out key runners all weekend. The 16U Redhawks look to continue to build at their biggest tournament of the summer the Perfect Game 25 National Championship in Emerson, Georgia.
