It was a very successful weekend for the Zoned RedHawks as 4 teams came home with a tournament or USABL League Championship. Nick Marcucci’s 9U Team and Mike Marcucci’s 12US Team both took home the USABL League Championship. In addition Duke Baxter’s 12UE won the USABL Super Elite World Series. To top it off, Ray Navarette’s 16UE Team won the Fraizer World Series.

Lou Colon’s 17U Showcase Team also put up a valiant effort, as they finished in the top 2 of 40 teams that played down in the Perfect Game Super 25 Tournament.

Bats Blistered As Zoned RedHawks as 9U Elite Defeats Watchung Hills Futures Gold for USABL World Series

Both Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite and Watchung Hills Futures Gold had their offenses going on Sunday, but Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite eventually prevailed 7-6.

Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite captured the lead in the first inning. Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite scored two runs on a stolen base in the first inning. Watchung Hills Futures Gold evened things up at two in the bottom of the first inning. Watchung Hills Futures Gold scored one run on a stolen base in the first inning.Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Josh S singled off of Centamore, driving in one run, Matthew G doubled off of Centamore, driving in one run, and Chase C grounded out, scoring one run.

Max P earned the win for Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite. He went one and one-third innings, allowing four runs, zero hits, and striking out two. Kellan K threw three and two-thirds innings, as three relievers helped Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite finish off the victory. Hugh B recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite. Centamore took the loss for Watchung Hills Futures Gold. He tossed three innings, surrendering five runs, seven hits, and striking out two.Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite collected 11 hits. William M and Alex G each collected multiple hits for Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite. Alex and William each collected two hits to lead Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite. Josh led Zoned RedHawks 9U Elite with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.

Zoned RedHawks 12U Elite Blows Out Levittown for USABL Championship

Zoned RedHawks 12U Elite blew out Levittown 11-3 on Sunday.

Zoned RedHawks 12U Elite scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Brian O, a single by Matthew A, and a single by Zachary A.Zoned RedHawks 12U Elite had 16 hits in the game.

Trevor H, Ryan S, Martin H, Brian L, and Matthew each collected multiple hits for Zoned RedHawks 12U Elite.

Zachary and Ryan each drove in two runs to lead Zoned RedHawks 12U Elite.

Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci Grabs Lead In Fourth Inning For Victory Over East Hanover Hornets

Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci took the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over East Hanover Hornets on Sunday. The game was tied at one with Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci batting in the top of the fourth when Andy K singled off of #lopinto8, driving in two runs.East Hanover Hornets took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for East Hanover Hornets.

After Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci scored two runs in the top of the sixth, East Hanover Hornets answered with two of their own. Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci scored when Andy K hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run and after a wild pitch, another run scored. East Hanover Hornets then answered when Connor G induced a hitter into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored and Connor walked a batter to drive in a run.

In the top of the third inning, Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci tied things up at one. Tino L drove in one when he singled in the third inning.

Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. Tino led Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci with two hits in three at bats. Zoned RedHawks 12U Select Marcucci stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Tino led the way with two.

16UE Brings Home the Fraizer World Series

Zoned 16U Elite had a dominant performance over the weekend, as the entire team did their part to earn them a chance to make the championship at the Fraizer World Series. Great starts by George Eberle, Dylan Donohue, Ben Levine and Greg Verano all put the team in a place where they could go out there and dominate the competition.

The bats did the rest of the work as it seemed like every time they needed a hit, some one pulled through, including a home-run by Nate Ryan. Then, in the finals, Vinny Bianchi led the team firing a complete game of one run ball, and helped himself out going 3-3 with 3 doubles! They will look to continue there success next week!

17U Colon Comes in 2nd of 40 Teams at Perfect Game Super 25

This weekend Colon’s 17U team traveled down to Staten Island to compete against 40 other elite academy teams. In this perfect game invitational they had outstanding performances by all 11 players that were in attendance. They went 4-0 in pool play, defeating some of the top ranked teams in the tri-state area.

Offensively the team was helped out by a home run from James Ingram, and a grand-slam from Nolan Leger! On the mound Alex Degen, Nolan Leger, Billy Gyves and Michael Golankiewicz all had strong performances, helping them make a run to the finals!

After winning the first four games of their day, they went to a fifth game where they finally fell in the finals to a team that had 11 D1 commits on their team. For a five game day and only some bananas and peanut butter sandwiches in their stomachs we are very proud of the work they put in!
