Robby Price is entering his senior season at the Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ where he will be returning as one of their top arms in 2017. Price spent his 2016 season at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL to help further his baseball and academic skills before returning to New Jersey for his Senior season. Robby is currently committed to play at Tulane University beginning in the fall of 2017. Over his 3-year career at Delbarton, Robby has amassed a 10-3 record, 3.0 era and 62 total strikeouts. Coach Romanella sat down with Robby to discuss his high school career, committing to Tulane and how Zoned Sports has helped him get to the next level.
Andrew Romanella: You will be graduating from Delbarton this coming Spring, can you explain your experience as a ballplayer throughout your high school career?
Robby Price: My high school experience has been unforgettable. Being able to play for the Delbarton School and Coach Statel was awesome and something I’ll always cherish. I have learned so much from the coaching staff at Delbarton and am very proud to say I played there and will be an alumni of the school.
AR: Is there anything specific from your high school career that stands out? Whether that be achievements, other sports, specific coaches, etc.?
RP: I think my year at IMG gave me the opportunity to learn so much about being a baseball player. Being surrounded by such great players and coaches drove me to work harder and become a better player. Also, playing in the senior all-star game was a great experience and a lot of fun.
AR: Where did Tulane University first see you play?
RP: Tulane’s coaching staff first saw me play through the video I made and sent them while at IMG Academy.
AR: What stood out about Tulane? And what are you most excited about in terms of playing at the next level?
RP: Tulane was the perfect combination of high level baseball, a great academic school and being in an awesome city. I am very excited to be a member of the Green Wave and competing for a spot in Omaha and the College World Series.
AR: When did you first begin training at Zoned? And how has Zoned Sports help you get to the level you are at now?
RP: I begin training at Zoned prior to year at IMG and have been working with Chris Eickhorst. Chris has been a huge help to me as a pitcher, taught me a lot and helped me with gain a lot of Velocity on my pitches.
AR: To finish, talk about the person in your life who has been the biggest influence on you as a person and player to help you reach this stage in your career?
RP: I would have to say Aaron Braithwaite of prospect select who has been like an older brother too me. He has helped me so much in every aspect of my game and I can’t imagine where I would be without his guidance and knowledge.
